Because today is the last day of Summer and tomorrow is the first day of Fall I figured a re-view of the last few months might be just the thing.
We started June off doing this.
And a little of this.
And finally, after three years, stopped and took a picture of this 5 miles south of the farm…
Watched storms roll in from the west…
Watched a few sunrises…
and finally got one decent moonrise picture.
Managed to sneak off and do this now and then.
Got HOT feet driving one particular hay semi. That’s not sunburn on my feet.
Saw A LOT of this.
Had a Mocha Moment on the deck with this.
Fixed lots of this…
And still managed to drive around till the sun went down.
Made time for the Indiana State Fair…
(No, I didn’t get far from the horse barn and coliseum…it was 309 degrees and humid.)
Drug a husband outa the muck.
And brought a husband a lunch(s).
Got drug by a boy back to the shop….
All I’m going to say about this is:
I’m so glad it wasn’t me that filled the new mower with diesel fuel instead of gasoline.
I just KNEW I’d be the first! And, nope, wasn’t Jake.
He was relieved he wasn’t the first either.
Oh, I know we’ll do it eventually…just best not to be first in a case like this.
Explanation: Every tractor/lawnmower here runs on diesel – except the new one.
You know…Old habits and all that!
Wandered the yard before the day began and…
made time to get a few after pictures of the last hay field knocked down.
A certain boy honed his manure unloading skills…
and found out how tough it was standing at a 40 degree angle and shoveling out the stubborn leftovers.
Soon it will look like this out the front pasture; the trees are already changing fast here.
And because Todd’s been working on getting this lately, Jake will have company on the ice in a few weeks when hockey kicks up again, bringing us back full circle…
