Of Clyde Legs & Blog Awards

My husband may have worked for the Budweiser Clydesdales many years ago and I may live on a thirty-head Clydesdale farm in “No-Where Northern Michigan”, but that doesn’t mean I ever had the pleasure of washing those pain in the rear-end fancy, feathery legs…until just a couple of days ago.  Thanks Dad…you now owe me, big time.

Speaking of ‘thanks’, but of the genuine variety, I want to say a huge thank you to my blogging friend Dianna, author of a wonderful little blog called These Days of Mine, for presenting me with my first ever blogging award!  It is called the Liebster Blog Award.   Since I had never heard of it, I did what any normal girl would do and “Googled” it!

Here is what I found out:

I understand it may have originated in Germany.

The definition of “liebster” is:

n. sweetheart, beloved person, darling

adj. dear, darling; beloved, liked very much; affectionate, loving

adj. favorite, preferred above others; liked or loved above others

It was created to recognize blogs with a following of less than 200 followers.  Some sites I found indicated 300 followers.

And now the rules, per Dianna, about accepting the Liebster Blog Award:

1.  Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
2.  Reveal your top 5 picks *(
some sites I saw said 3) and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3.  Post the award on your blog.
4.  Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the Internet – other writers.
5.  And best of all – have fun and spread the karma!

I have four blogs I’m very partial to that I’d  like to nominate and share with the rest of you, they aren’t in any particular order.

*There is no obligation to accept…seriously…no big deal!

Burnett Photography – Cary is a wedding/family/children’s photographer extraordinaire.   Her photography is simply gorgeous.  She  lives in the Northwest with her husband and two very darling children.

The Game of Life“Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it”. ~Anne of Green Gables.  A sweet little blog direct from the Seattle area where-in the author keeps you entertained with all her outdoor adventures.

An Adventure in Food – “An adventure in food from the kitchen, and out on the town.”  Real food.  Real recipes.  Real helpful site!

Fraser School of Driving – This blog is very new and hits close to home.  Click it and you’ll understand why!  I just couldn’t resist.

So, again…Thanks Dianna of Scottish decent, this “Clyde” leg is for you!

  1. Just noticed the sandals! I’d be afraid those big legs would crush my toes! They are such beautiful animals… one day… one day… I keep telling myself that.
I know you guys like to do driving but do you guys often ride them? Trail rides.. casual rides?

  2. Congratulations on the award! Dianna kindly presented my cat Sam with the Liebster as well and we too were thrilled to receive it. I bet keeping those horses all cleaned up is a major job but they are so beautiful they deserve the attention I’d say. Have always thought they were magnificent animals. I love all the photos you have posted on your blog….I adore wide open spaces.

  3. Oh – sweet! I love it! One day I’m gonna hop on a plane and come see your Clydesdales (but I’ll check first to be sure you’re at home!).
So glad we’ve become blogging friends. My readership is up a little today – most likely your readers checking in. Thanks for the mention!
