Update: Surgery Postponed So We Went Boating

I know it.  We’re back home now and I still can’t wrap my brain around the fact that when it was all said and done…it really didn’t get done after all!

This is Lake Charlevoix.  This is where we spent our Thursday instead of our Pre-Op appointment with the surgeon and various other appointments at the hospital in Traverse City.

There is a whole lot more to this story, like what did with our Wednesday to distract the boy.  I want to tell you all about our last thirty-six hours because it has been a bit of a whirl wind, fly-by-the-seat-our-pants kind of thing but I’m going to save that for tomorrow’s post.

For right now, as hollow as it may sound, just know that all your comments, emails, thoughts and prayers meant more and still do mean more to us than I can tell you and we’d love it if we could have a rain-check for next week.  I’ve asked if the surgery could be rescheduled for next Friday.  I’ll know in the morning if we get the request granted.

The most important thing is:  Jake says his lung/breathing “feels real good still”.  I’m hoping that he hasn’t resorted to just saying that because about every hour, I’m asking him if he can take a super deep breath.

    1. Hahahaha…love your lingo and OH MY GOSH no…we didn’t bring a boat, we rented one in Charlevoix :) I’m working on that crazy post right now.

  1. Sometimes it feels good to get out and do something unrelated to the illness. I know exactly how you feel (well, not exactly, because in my case it’s my husband, not son, who has us spending many hours, each week, at hospitals and in doctors rooms). You remain in my thoughts and prayers.
